An introduction to the Youth Empowerment System (Y.E.S)

The Youth Empowerment System (Y.E.S) is a support system designed to support young people between the ages of 7 and 18 years old, aimed at raising their achievements academically and socially, enabling them to make significant marked improvements in their lives.

We focus on young people who need additional and targeted help if they are to achieve their full potential and also help those who are already excelling yet welcome additional support.  We work at targeting any issues or challenges, resolving them before it develops into a crises.

The programme also focuses on those who are outside of the educational system who may or may not have been provided with an alternative provision.

Our main areas of support include but are not limited to:

  • Improving attendance
  • Preventing exclusions
  • Support for casual entrants
  • Support at stages of transition
  • Curriculum support
  • Emotional support
  • Peer relationships
  • Developing self confidence
  • Developing assertiveness
  • Enhancing communication skills
  • Finding educational pathways
  • Support in dealing with bullying
  • Family support
  • Improving relationships between child, parents / carers and school
  • Support with cross agency child care initiatives
  • Financial and material hardship advice

The Y.E.S program is designed to complement any work already being done with young people, we will work alongside supporting the work of: head teachers, teachers, SENCCO’s, learning mentors, parents / carers, families, students, youth workers, health workers, voluntary sector organisations, researchers and other professionals in related fields.
